I am a returning member here and was amazed to see the redesign of the site; it looks fantastic!
One of the reasons I wanted to get back here, was because of my concern about a poll being conducted on CNN, asking the general public whether they believe the Assault Weapons ban should be extended. I was alarmed that more that 70% felt it should be extended. I just noticed that this topic was posted earlier, so I won't repeat what I wanted to say about it. I am curious about one thing though, that some of you could shed some light. I wonder how significant this kind of poll will be in persuading our congressmen?

GENERAL PUBLIC... Man that is a scary word. CNN... Even scarier...My neighbor saw me loading my gun case in the car the other day, asked me what kind of gun I had in there, practically begged me to see it. Showed it to him, and I thought Id have to call an ambulance. Never seen anyone get that pale before. ( BM 11.5" w/ 5.5" flash) The general public is ignorant for the most part. I cant stand to watch the news anymore, as I get so frustrated. We still have to band together and hope that this thing goes away and stays away..

The poll was rigged, vito in the UK and some other folks did some testing.

First off, welcome back. Second off, they will probably make you move this post to the general discussions/politics forum. Lastly, pay no attention to the CNN polls. Most of the people that watch CNN anyways are mostly left wing nuts.
