Try not to dry fire it to much, I know I finger f****d the heck out of my first lower to "break it in" before I got my upper. Seeing yours is giving me the bug to get some more, thanks for the photo.

No it isn't!

It wants to become an SBR with an 11½ inch upper!

Maybe even shorter!

I would get an 11.5" if I could get a can. But thats much much later on. Not sure how my local cleos are on suppressors and SBRs.

Very nice. You are going to have a hard time learning those Metallica songs on guitar with that around. It will keep you well occupied.

I just got done ordering a Mod 1 Tac-Latch CH combo from GTS (denny). And I am 90% sure I am going with a 1/7 20" A4 upper from MA-Parts. :)

Reason for the pick is its the only upper that ISN'T M4 length/profile and doesn't cost a bizillion dollars for gov't profile which I desire greatly. The twist is icing on the cake. But I won't be able to afford a BCG until another 2-3 weeks which sucks. Unless someone wants to loan me one, yea right, haha.

When I do goto something shorter I will float it and saw down the site and have it as my "accurized" upper blasting off heavier ammo. And keep a middy attached to the gun with lights and such for cleaning house. Hahaha.

congrats on the new lower

Congrats on your lower. Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm thinking about getting a lower for my first "build". I have two factory AR's but now that I feel comfortable with the platform, I'm ready to customize one just to my specifications, maybe even an SBR.

I ordered an upper reciever (no barrel), BCG and some misc accessories like magpull followers just now.

Haven't decided on a barrel just yet.... seems like heavy 1:9 twists are plentiful in the $200 range but if you want Gov't you are expected to pay $300 + S&H.

Try finding a middy in 1:7 no-chrome in Gov't. Atleast $300. Ah well. I should be able to pull it off in a few weeks. But heck, at that price you might as well go with a noveske barrel or such. Doesn't make sense.

Update with more gun porn!

I think I've decided on a RRA Chromed Middy. Should be able to finish in the following weeks. One small issue is the charging handle. The beginning of it is binding REALLY badly in the receiver for some reason. I've tossed gratuitous amounts of oil on it and it seems to fix it for about 2-3 charges then binds again. Is this normal? Just needs some live rounds through it?
