Hey guys, found this site a few weeks ago while doing some reasearch of what AR I wanted to buy.  Figured I may as well join up and hang around a while. I'm not new to the firearms world by any means but damn, there are a lot of knowledgable people here! h

CONGRATS and welcome to the forum.

Gotta watch out for that BRD, it's a killer.

BRD=Black Rifle Disease

Symptoms:
-irresistible desire to get accesories to improve a good, modular design to fit ones personal tastes, or needs.
-Often this leads to the desire to dable in building or assembling a custom rifle, in addition to the first one purchased.
 -This is often done to have a specialized version for long range, light weight, or to familiarize one's self more completely with the function of the basic design.
-Eventually one finds threads about "Retro builds, IDF clones, KISS rifles" and decides he has to break the "Gucci rifle" trend and must have a super simple rifle that will not have any "gear queer" stuff on it, because the AR is best in it's pure form.
-He then realizes he has enough spare parts to make a high speed "zombie killer".

And the circle progresses uncontrolably, new callibers are discovered, NFA weapons are found to be attainable.   At this point there is no cure.  All that can be done for  the patient is to make him comfortable by pointing him to the site sponsors and EE.

I'm really sorry but I like to be honest with patients.
Welcome to the sickness.

It's all perfectly clear now.... That's why I tried to avoid owning my own AR for a long time. They're like really addictive Erector sets for big kids.... that you can kill shit with.

How ever you want to equate them, but yeah, I think you understand the sickness perfectly.

You would be wise to destroy your credit cards now.

Get your wife into AR's as soon as you can (you can build her a pink one if you like) that way she will become infected with the sickness and won't mind it so much when you drop a chunk of change on another AR or ammo or mags (go check the EE, there is a group buy going on on mags right now)

Also, take some to look around at all the different sub forums we have here (if you have not already done so). It took me almost a year before I found the General Discussion forum lol. But there are a lot of really neat things on this site. You may also consider purchasing a membership (I think it's $24.00). Well worth the money for all that you will learn here and being a member has bennefits that are second to none.

I think I feel a membership coming on soon... "*grumbling* there goes another 25 bucks on my new habit.. *grumbling*"

It is customary when announcing an addition to the family, that pictures be shown, and cigars be passed.
