I was looking for a lighter duty rifle than the Noveske middy that I had before, so this is what I came up with.

14.5" Daniel Defense light weight barrel with a perm. attached BCM extended FH.
BCM upper
BCM BCG
Standard hand guards
RRA lower with a JP trigger
Magpul BAD and stock
MI mount with a Streamlight TLR-1
EOTech EXPS OPMOD
GG&G BUIS

It shoots great, and handles wonderfuly.  The weight reduction really makes it more comfortable standing around on a perimeter for hours, or in a class.  I wanted to wait for the BCM complete lightweight uppers that were being advertised, but they were on backorder and I was impatient.  So, of course, as soon as I get all my parts in the BCM becomes available.  Oh well.

The only thing that concerns me about your lightweight "duty" rig is the use of the JP trigger.  I don't know if they make one that isn't adjustable, but the one's I've seen were all adjustable and the only thing holding those set screws in place is red loctite.  Over the course of cleaning with solvent, etc. the red loctite could let go and if the adjustment screw moves the wrong way, could render the rifle inoperable.

If you want a nice "duty" trigger, the Geiselle SSA is hard to beat, if you don't mind a two stage.  I have a JP trigger in one of my carbines and I love it.  It's a nice trigger.  The set screws concern me though.  When I put mine together, I used JB weld on the set screws.  Yes, I ruined the trigger in terms of transferring it to another lower or replacing the hammer, but I do have piece of mind, I guess.

You must have been reading my mind.  This was my 3-gun lower, which is why it has the JP trigger in it.  Since I am using this as my duty rifle now, I'm throwing in stock GI fire control parts in it.  Just waiting on the big brown truck.

Weight loaded and unloaded?

I tried keeping mine light weight, but I can't keep it simple and added light and laser and filled the grips with batteries and bullets and ear plugs.  With a loaded mag, I'm at 8.5lbs as pictured here.  Without the light and laser I'm just a pinch below 7 where I like it.  This too is a 14.5" barrel except it's in the gov't contour.  I think the magpul foregrip is lighter than the standard m4 handgrip.  The MOE stock is lighter than the CTR (i had a moe stock previously).
