XCRTM FAQ ANSWERS

What does "XCRTM" stand For?
We're not really sure.   It could stand for "eXchangeable Caliber Rifle"; or, perhaps, "eXtremely Cool Rifle"; or, maybe, "eXraordinary Combat Rifle".   Maybe it has all those meaning.

What is the Price of the XCRTM?
We haven't finalized the pricing yet.   It will be another week or so.

When will the XCRTM be available?
We plan to begin shipping in December 2004, or January 2005.

Is there a waiting list?
Yes, we have begun a waiting list.  As soon as we finalize the pricing, we will ask for deposits.

Why is the XCRTM the best combat rifle?
We have combined the lightness and ergonomics of the M16/M4 rifle with a bolt and operating system which are much more durable and much more reliable than those of M16/M4.   Additionally, the XCRTM has completely ambidextrous control.

How can I order?
You can call our sales department at 801-355-0401 M-F between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. MST.

Is the rifle piston driven?
Yes.

Does the rifle have an adjustable gas system?
The Adjustable Gas System will be an option for an additional charge.

What kind of bolt does it have?
It has a bolt with larger lugs to handle the greater forces produced by the 6.8 cartridge.    Bolts based on the M16/M4 cannot handle the forces like our bolt.

Where is the charging Handle?
The charging handle is very much like that of the FAL.  It is a non-reciprocating handle located on the left side of the rifle.

What is necessary to convert the XCRTM from one caliber to the other?
Only the bolt, barrel, and magazine need to be change to change calibers.

How long does it take to change calibers?
The caliber change can be accomplished in less than 5 minutes.

What options are available?
Barrels:  Barrel lengths - 11.5", 14.5", 16", 18.5", and 20".   Barrel contours from light to heavy with fluting options for an additional charge.
Upper Receivers:  Two lengths 17" & 21" long.
Iron Sights:  Many options available

What magazines does the XCRTM  take?
For 5.56 NATO (.223 Rem.), M16 magazines can be used, including the drum magazines like the Beta - C mag.
For 6.8 Rem., a special 6.8 magazine must be used.   M16 do not work well with the 6.8 ammunition.

Are the barrels chrome-lined?
We will be chrome lining or using a new plating which is superior to chrome.

What kind of trigger does the XCRTM have?  It looks like an AR15/M16 trigger?
Though the trigger looks like an AR15/M16 Trigger, it is not.  The trigger is two-stage.  A single-stage trigger is available for military and police.

What kind of sights does it have?
The sights shown on the website are not those to be offered.  There will be several iron sight options available including folding sights.  Any sight which will work on a 1913 (Picatinny Rail) will work on the XCRTM .

Is the XCRTM compatible with M16 accessories.
The XCRTM is compatible with most M16 accessories.

Is the XCRTM shown exactly as it will be delivered?  If not what changes will there be.
The sights, and final buttstock will be slightly different from those shown on the website.

Where is the XCRTM Made?
The rifle is made completely in the USA.
