New Optional Stag Logo?

A friend of mine who works in the firearms sales business told me that Stag Arms may offer an optional stamping logo on the left side of the receiver of their AR-15 lowers. Instead of the well known "deer" stamping, they will have an optional simple letter stamping that reads Stag Arms Inc. This is to accomodate customers that don't care for the deer image.

Has anyone else heard about this info.........or is it "old news".

Makes sense. Problem with logo figures is your gonna have folks that love and hate.

The more important question is have they improved the quality of their guns? Are they still incorrectly staking their bolt carriers?

They are making nice stripped lowers.

I would buy a Bolt carrier somewher else.

If the price is right and is in spec I don't care what logo is on the side.

That would be nice. I don't like the deer head logo but still built a few ARs on Stag stripped lowers because the price was right at the time.

In the end, I don't care what the rollmark is as long as it isn't Rosie O'Donnell or something.

I like em all..Lions,snakes,bears,dear,horses.If it were me and I was a manufacturer I would be a Bushmaster rival with a different snake maybe like copperhead arms or black mamba arms you get the jist

There are a lot I don't really care for but the only one I really don't like is the Bushmaster logo. Since when is the Bushmaster a rattlesnake and why did they have to make it look like the snake has a woody? Their logo wins in my book for being both technically wrong and aesthetically wrong too.

Noveske is the only roll mark that i care for, all of the others bother me. don't want a cat, pony, snake, deer, spider, etc.. nothing against the manufacturers, i just don't want pictures on the side of my weapon.

that being said the only lowers in my safe at the moment are Bushy and LMT. i don't consider what's on the LMT to be a *logo*. the snake may be my least favorite but i'm not about to spend a ton of cash to replace all of them. besides, one of 'em is registered.

That pony has been around a looooong time and is proven in battle. There is a difference between it and the deer head. While we are on logos. I like the simpler logos. There are two companies that have a "cross hair" type logo. Tactical Machining is my favorite because of it's simplicity. I like it far better than the pony on my Colts. I would never buy any AR with a Deer on it and it's about time that Stag figured out the Deer is .... not desireable to many

I wouldn't have a problem with the deer but that's why I have EA and LMT lowers. I really like Mega, I think that will be my next.

No one really asked if you liked the logo or not. The OP asked if anyone knew about the optional Stag roll mark. If you have an answer to that, chime in here.

If you would like to discuss how much you like or dislike the rollmarks of every one elses, join in on any one of the dozen threads we see discussing this every week. Or, feel free to start ANOTHER one. But that's not what this thread was about.

Its very possible if nothing else, perhaps stag has formed a contract of sort with a big retailer that requested not to have the deer and is ordering enough. Essentially i would imagine many AR makers other than ponys and kac and a few others would likely remove their logo and maybe even add yours or another one if the customer is willing to order a complete production run.

There is no "deer" on the side of a Stag. It is a Wapiti, an Elk. BTW, the Stag horn is used as a proof mark for HK and Walther.

my bcg is staked perfectly fine....

and i dont think the "quality" of a company is determined on the fact that maybe a couple guns got out of there with some improperly staked bcg's. i have seen the top tier companies do the same crap...

Exactly! Put Strawberry Shortcake on the side for all I care, as long as it is realiable and accurate. Personally, a nice Boar Hog on the side would be appropriate, in fact, a Boar Head with the words "Infidel Cal. 5.56mm" would kick ass!
