Hi all. Just picked up a 20" fluted, free floated Olympic flattop from a guy with bad money problems associated with health issues. It has one of those Fulton Armory flip-up front sights on top of the gas block, and a rear sight which is mounted on a 1" screw-on riser which itself offers picatinny mounting identical in dimension to the rifle. There is a kinda flimsy bipod on the rifle and it came with a couple of mags and a target pistol grip, with the original grip thrown in the bag. I coughed up $750 for the thing. I don't *think* I got taken... any input?

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Sounds like a nice rifle. While not a "screamin' deal", you certainly did not get taken.

You could have ordered a new one for less off www.olyarms.com their K6 Ultramatch upper is only $636.00 fluting is an extra 84.00 I would say you paid a few bucks more than it would cost new. Did it at least come with a BC and CH at that price? I would have got a bushmaster for less though.

ok, showing my ignorance. what's a bc and a ch? it's a full rifle, not an upper.

bc = bolt carrier ch = charging handle If you got taken it wasn't by too much. Go shoot it, see if it works before asking tho. [:D]

great suggestion tweak. i'm off to the range, gonna tell the boss i'm taking the rest of the day off, and that some shadowy fellow in the arfcom website with a signature that looks weird told me i could head out to the range to try out my new toy. *grins* really though, thanks for the information guys, i appreciate it as always.

Tommygs, Don't forget, Olympic has a lifetime transferable warranty against defects on all Olympic rifles of any age that is transferable from owner to owner. If you have any problems, call them.

>>>>>>>>Q the oly lifetime warranty only applies to original owners. not transferable. the only part of the warranty which is transferable is if it's obviously screwed up. which it ain't. still got a neat rifle, though. thanks for the tips guys, and freak, the boss just doesn't see the necessity in trying out a new rifle on a sunny day. imagine that...

Would Oly check to see if you were the original owner or not if you sent it in for repair work?

Tell him I said you could go tomorrow too. Put at least a couple of hundred rounds through it.

Go to the website and figure what model you have, then we can come up with a realistic price.
