Im trying to put a one point sling adaptor on my Colt M-4 with fixid clapsable ( yes I no oxymoron) and cant get the stock lock nut to lossen. I cut the staking points but it will not looser. ANY HELP? It is a new model for colt and most I have gone too dont know ( some have not even seen it brfore. Look like all others other tham they had the 2 points staked on the recuve side of ring. ??????????? Dave

I had the same problem on a preban Colt.

It eventually came loose, BUT i had to use the HEAVY DUTY (DPMS) armor wrench (it has a car stock wrench on it).  And I needed to mount the rifle in a vice block to hold it steady.
The regular CAR wrench was not strong enough to get the stock off. (in fact the wrench got bent up and was no longer any good.)

I dont know if that helps at all.
