M4 with standard FSB and a high power optic.

Does anyone have a picture of what this will look like?  Either going to go with the Burris or save some money right now and go with the Super Sniper.

Thanks in advance.

ETA:I am an idiot.  I had a scope on my SASS rifle in the safe.  Bigger than what I want to have for this rifle but gives me an idea.  I don't think it looks half bad.

I have to ask....why would you put a 8X plus scope on an M4???

I like to see things up close.  Has a match barrel and I also want to have one rifle that can Virtually do everything if it Has too.

I tried that long ago by putting a scope up on a see through base for my irons.  I found it wasn't much good for longer range shooting due to a lousy cheekweld, and no good up close either compared to a flattop w/ Eotech or Aimpoint.  You can still choose to try this out, but I have since wised up and kept the AR's setup for close work, and the Rem. 700's if I need to go further out.  Just my $0.02 and someone else here may feel differently.

It'll work fine. the front sight won't be visible thru a high power scope.

I take it this will be going on a flattop.

Works just Fine, But I have since this picture went to a 12" Samson rail and awaiting funds for a better barrel 16" to 18" maybe, this is a super sniper 10x you cannot see the front sight when looking through the scope

That above is what I was looking for.  SS is more than likely what I will go with for this rifle right now.  I edited my first post and threw on my Luppy 4.5-14x50.  Looks kinda big but gives me an idea.  Your rifle above is exactly what I plan.

Thanks.

Why not?

Because high magnification scopes are for long range rifles, and carbines are for close quarters engagements.  It's kind of like putting buckshot mudders on a corvette.

Obviously you can do it and it will work, but it will diminish the capability/speed of the carbine up close and for multiple targets.  I had one on a carbine once, and when I realized it was better off on my 20" AR or on one of my 700's, it got moved and an Eotech got put on the carbine.  This is just my opinion, to each his own!
