I am currently searching for a replacement scope for my POF P308. It is currently equipped with a Weaver Tactical 1-5X24 w/CIRT reticle. I have two of these Weavers and they are great scopes IMO. The Weaver will be moving over to my IWI X95, so I will need a replacement scope for the P308.

I am looking at a couple of scopes right now- the Bushnell Tactical Elite 1-6.5X24 BTR-1 FFP SMCR, and the Sig Tango 6 1-6X24 SFP w/3 gun reticle.

I searched the forum prior to starting this post and came up with nothing.

Is anybody out there running a Sig Tango 6 1-6X24, or had any experience with them? SWFA has a pretty good sale going right now on these and I'm strongly considering getting one.

Online reviews are pretty limited. Everybody seems to say that the glass is very clear, images are sharp, and build quality is great.

What I am interested in knowing is how is the illuminated reticle in daylight? How is the battery life? These supposedly come with a voucher for one Sig custom ballistic turret. You send them the ballistic info of your chosen load and they customize the turret for holdover. Any experience with this?

Also, I'm open to other brands as well. I've looked at some 1-6 power offerings from Trijicon and Leupold as well. Another option I'm considering is just purchasing a Steiner P4XI 1-4X24 and leaving the Weaver on my POF. As for my budget, I'm trying to stay below $1K if possible. Thanks!

Here's a thread I started after getting mine, so far, I love it. Daylight visible illumination, great glass, solid controls.

Once you're up over $1,000, it's hard to beat the Vortex gen2 HD Razor 1-6x24.

Comes in MOA, MRAD, or Jerry Miculek's BDC reticles

SFP Tango6's are on sale for $700.

I'm pretty happy with my Tango4 1-4x.  Turrets are pretty good, they lock so you don't have to worry about them getting spun which is a common problem with other 1-4x's that have exposed turrets.  The motion activated illumination seems like a great feature for any optic that won't be riding in a vehicle all the time.

Well, I ended up finding a good deal on a Sig Tango 6 2-12X40 FFP MRAD, so I ordered that up this morning. I found one for $879 shipped. I didn't see the Tango 6 in 2-12 initially, just 1-6 and 5-30.

I think that 2-12 power will be a pretty useful magnification range for my POF P308. The scope is arriving Thursday. I'll post an initial review then.

I want to try the 2-12 sometime.  I really like my 2-10 Weavers and think the 2-12 is a great magnification range.  Let us know how you like it and post some pictures when it arrives!

I have one, other than being a tad on the heavy side, I am very impressed with it.  The optical clarity is as good as any high end glass I have tried.

I received the scope yesterday. Initial impressions are very good.

First off, it is built like a tank. All of the markings and emblems on the scope looked good. All turrets and knobs worked well.

When looking through the scope for the first time, I was impressed by how bright and clear the image appeared. Once the focus on the eyepiece is dialed in, the reticle appears crisp and precise. The illumination works well, but I didn't get a chance to test it out in full daylight.

Here's the scope mounted on my POF P308, using Warne 30mm MSR QD rings. The diameter of the power ring is just enough that it slightly contacted the ears of the Troy micro battlesight mounted beneath it. I had to take that into account when positioning the scope in the rings.

I really think that a 2-12X scope is going to be very useful on this rifle. This scope has really impressed me initially, and I'm looking forward to testing it out at the range. I feel that for what I paid for it, I got a steal.

One thing that I did notice is that of all the Tango6 scopes, the 2-12X had basically zero reviews online. I didn't even see an actual picture of one, other than the same Sig advertisement photo used by everybody.

With the weather being what it is right now where I live, it may take me a couple of months before I can go out somewhere and do some shooting. Once I do though, I'll be sure to post an in depth review of this scope.
