I need help with a barrel marking. Barrel is a 20" barrel, barrel extension is marked with a C, barrel is marked with a V & P in a triangle with a upside down M partially over the triangle. A "12" marking just over and inch from the muzzle.  Can anyone explain this?

A "12" marking was added just over and inch from the muzzle to differentiate it from the earlier barrels. Marking was used from 1963 till the Fall of 1967:

It would be correct for a 602 build

My guess would be a '64 barrel with the "M" stamped upsidedown.  Where did you find it?   I've been looking for one of those for years...

Lots of people been waiting for one of those to come around.  Real nice find.  Think I'm about retro done but think I'll keep a 602 receiver just in case.

Hmmm. Looks like a forged FSB to me.
That would make it a late MVP.
1965 - 1966, so a bit late for a 602.
Would be correct for an early 603 or 604.
Well, it might squeek by for a very late 602 since I'm not sure exactly when the FSB switched to forged.

I do spy a cast FSB barrel in the background though.

I was, but it's pretty frustrating just not finding anything, and when you do, you can't afford it.
