Wife wants an AR. Fine and good. She was in a serious accident a few years ago and can not really handle the kick from her other rifles or the weight. Need something light.

Suggestions ?

Also might want to get a complete upper first then the lower.

Thanks for the help.

Bushmaster Superlight with the Stubby stock and 1" spacer.  Light, and with the shorter stock the weight is closer to the body making it even easier to handle.  You can order an upper with the lightweight barrel now - and get the lower (with stubby stock) at another time.

2nd choice would be one of the Bushmaster Carbone Fiber rifles.  These you have to buy as a rifle.  They are very light though so recoil is a bit more pronounced, and I don't care for the small buttplate (makes the recoil seem worse than it is).  But this is the lightest AR you'll find (if carrying it is a concern).

The Bushmaster Modular model is light at 6.3lbs and has lots of extra features which are nice. An Ace stock, flip up front and rear sights, BMAS Ras type handguard that is free floating, Ergo grip and a 16" chrome lined fluted barrel.
