Anyone have any idea what kind of upper this is by looking at its subtle features?  The gray rear sight probably limits it down. Obviously cast too.

Heh you rock.  I never woulda figgered that'un out =).  Did essential arms make their own uppers as well? I'm wondering if it might be original.  The only other uppers i've seen with a gray rear sight are Colt and DPMS.

Yes, Essential Arms did indeed make upper receivers, cast and grey just like the lowers.

So if the whole thing was gray I assume this isn't an Essential Arms upper?
