I know there is a documented NSN for HK 416/ improved M4 mags, whatever you want to call them. Does anyone have it? Our supply sergeant just came back off R&R leave and can't find where he wrote it down.

If it has a black follower and a rubber bumper piece at the back of the floorplate, it's a gen 2 mag.

Well, I remember the black follower, I don't recall a rubber pad but I don't want to dump out the load of tracers and "borrowed" Mk. 262 to find out.

The Maritime version has the black follower, and the regular has a hard chrome follower

The Maritime generally sells for around $2-$4 more than the other

Here is the rubber core mentioned (bottom right. The Generation I is pictured on the left)
