I'm talking about the little ?silicone? thing that sits inside the extractor spring. I am replacing the extractor, extractor pin, and spring(using wolff), and I lost the little insert that goes in the spring.

Is this part vital for the gun to function?

Also, when I put the spring(wolff) and extracor on the bolt and then try to insert the extractor pin, it feels very tight.(like it might not come out again.

Please Help, My ar has been out of action for some time now!

Thank
Fidel

The Black insert is indeed a SLIGHTLY HARDER durometer rubber then the Blue. It's hard to actually tell the difference, but it is.

So hard that it makes absolutely no practical difference.
