First off, thanks for looking as always

I just finished assembling the upper of my Colt MT6400C post sunset conversion project. Since there are so many 6400C owners here I thought somebody might want to see before and after pics.

Neutured postban configuration with pinned MagPul M93, no bayo lug, and brake:

Post sunset configuration with Colt LE6920 barrelled upper, Vltor, and Troy BUIS:

I'm looking forward to hitting the range tomorrow for sighting in and reliability testing. It sounds corny, but I feel that these projects of ours have been ten years in the making. It warms my heart to see our postban rifles converted into their 'proper' configurations.

On another note, can any of you Surefire M500A owners suggest a decent front sling swivel solution? The LED running lights prevent using Colt's standard side sling mount, so I added a standard swivel on the bottom as shown. It would be nice to be able to rig a swivel on the side for my Giles sling though.

Thanks in advance for your help and thanks again for looking!

Any reason you went with the VLTOR instead of having the M93 unpinned?  Just curious.

Looks sweet, though!

The MagPul is currently out being unpinned. When it comes back I'll probably reinstall it.

COLT!  Everything else should be BANNED!

Nice work CJan .

Try a loop of paracord through the front sight tower for the sling.

Cool, there are many 6400s being no-banned

How dare you un-M4 a 6400!

That, too, is a nice rig.

That would be my 2nd suggestion.  My first choice for your setup would be GRSC's front plate that plugs into the bayonet lug (which you now have, yay!)

Why did you ditch the ARMS 40?   Is the 19S next?

Looks good CJan.

I like that idea a lot! Thanks for the heads-up Kisara.

I ditched the ARMS 40 purely to try something new. Others may feel differently, but I like that the Troy BUIS locks positively into place. The 19S works great on the Colt, but it doesn't fit properly on two of my RRA flattops-and that has always bothered me for the sake of interchangeability. I'm going to try a LaRue next-mainly to see what all the hoopla is about. With all of the rave reviews around here it seems like a sure winner-but I need to experiment with one on my own rigs firsthand before I become a "believer".

From a standpoint of intellectual honesty it's hard for me to recommend something until I've owned, used, and abused it myself on my own stuff.
