M4M:

All you did was build the upper, yes? Still, good to see you puttin them new skillz to work. What'd you end up doing for a receiver block when you installed the barrel and the LaRue?

Yeah, I'd already swapped stocks and grips a couple of weeks ago. So all I had to do yesterday evening was piece the upper assembly together. It wasn't a bad ordeal at all either. Two strikes to each of the taper pins and they dropped right out (without any Kroil either). Believe it or not, I used the $28 flat action block from ADCO that the upper pins to. I got tired of waiting for my Bushmaster action block to arrive (and it arrived today). Not to mention that I would have had to dremel the front of the Bushmaster block for a LaRue install.

Hey, I had it lying around, so I mounted it.

I've never used a sling anyhow.

It's a thread mount. A quick-detach was another $130, and I really couldn't find a personal need for installing it or removing it quickly. That savings alone equaled the cost of my optic mount and cantilever spacer.

cool.

Just curious since I have an LMT upper (lower on order, ships tomorrow) so I pulled off the A2 FH and put on a gem-tech bi-lock and started the ATF paperwork.  I figure it was only $80 for the bi-lock and the can will be a totally different purchase months down the road...  so I won't even notice.  :D

I haven't had time to shoot this configuration yet, but everything feels rock solid from buttstock to muzzle. ZERO play in neither the LMT SOPMOD stock nor the LaRue 7.0.
