I always wanted a decked out M4. I have not shot it yet. That will be very soon. My next is a LMT build. I do have a LMT BUIS for it but I think its to tall. Im going to put a flip up ARMS BUIS on it soon.  Hope you enjoy.

Congrats, I've had nothing but great shooting w/ my Bushy 14.5".  Thinking about getting a Bushy 20" now for an A4 build.

Good shooting!

Why not? When I was younger I seen a rifle with one. I always wanted one so I built a rifle with it. Thats the truth.

How much does it weigh?

Looks great!  SIR is a solid piece of kit.  It's a little old school now with all the lighter weight stuff out there, but still super cool and is actually used by the pros.

Nice looking, well thought out rifle.

I was not concerned about weight. Im not going in the jungle or to the desert any time soon. It does weigh quite a bit. Ill have to weigh it when I get home from work. It weighs a sh#t load with a 100rd drum in it. Oh well, its for shooting and I plan on doing that very soon.

That's not so bad. Pretty much on average with the other railed M4s seen on here.

Everyone likes different set-ups. I happen to like the ARMS rail. Its solid and lite. It does what I wanted. LMT, Daniel Defense or Surefire there all good. I just happen to like the looks and functionability of the ARMS.

They work fine, they're just kind of big and clunky looking compared to more modern set ups.

Agreed. They are a little on the wide side, but the feel was part of what made my decision. I hear they have a "slim-line" model as well, but I've yet to see or hold one. If I had to add a negative, it would be that you need to buy ( yes, an ARMS BUIS ) to complete the package as the top rail comes back so far that only the 1st slot of the 1911 rail is available for use. Thats the trade-off for the bi-level rail. I do like the Omega and look forward to getting the Larue BUIS to use on that upper. Time and money...time and money...

I like the big chunky look. It makes it look mean. I have a vertical grip on it so I dont notice it as much.

Stop knocking on the rail choice guys... it actually helps reduce the recoil!!!

I rebuilt my back stop on saturday. I shoot in a 10' high x 20' wide x 15' thick pile of dirt in the back yard. There is nothing behind me for probably a mile or more. Im going to site in the eotech this week. Ill let you know how it shoots.

I love my S.I.R. as well. I got mine when there was no bi-level carbine length. With a scope I like having a solid 1 piece rail on the top to eliminate any flex. Remember it's your gun, so do you what you like.

Thanks for all the comments. I plan on shooting it this weekend.

Slaytex- Nice rifle. Is that a ARMS #40 rear sight. I bought a LMT BUIS and it dont fit with the rail on it. Im looking at the ARMS #40.

Yes, it's the normal #40 rear sight not the low profile one. It just barely clears the scope as well. I'd go Larue but ARMS has yet to let me down, so i'm sticking with them.

Is that a ARMS throw lever mount on the Eotech? Which one is it? I would like to do that but am not sure if they make one to fit my 557. Sweet gun though....
