Double Star AR-15 with Barska 1x40 mildot, Blackhawk products 3-pt sling.....and hundreds of rounds later one happy customer.  Got her dialed in with 3" groupings at 100 yards using crap american eagle ammo bought surplus a while back.  Tigher groupings with better ammo..DUH!
When I first got her

After the mildot and sling and plenty of magazines later

I would ditch the crappy optic for irons until you can get a decent one, swap out the sling for one that is padded / quick adjust and go from there.  (my 2 cents)

Looks good to me! I'm sure we'd all like more ammo and better optics, but we gotta start somewhere.

Gun snobs!!! Gun snobs all of you!!!

I've shot cheap glass for years and after shooting high end Glass, don't know why you'd bother.
Not saying that the cheaper stuff doesn't have more defective products, but I haven't had any problems.

Until your optic fails because you left the battery on overnight.....then the zombies come and you get ate because you were tangled up in your 3 point sling.

When empty, turn around and use as blunt instrument.

22 mags? Youre not much better off than the OP.

Let me know when you start using them as stocking stuffers at Christmas time.

Don't worry about the big dollar optics. In the coming zombie-pocalypse, they won't be more than 10 feet away (you've seen the movie, right?) and that mellon-sized optic is just going to be in the way.  More mags, more ammo, good to go.

go to dgsarms and pick up a case or two of their 10-pack mags.

get yourself a couple three thousand rounds of ammo.

Ditch that stupid heavy underpowered unreliable flashlight for a fenix or surefire.

While your at it, get some weapon mounted lights. (I make my own)

I've progressed from heavy with long runtime, to small and light weight.

Not enough stuff by ARF.com standards.  A good start though...

Good start.  While there is some sound advice here, you're more prepared than 95% of the sheeple out there.

No I am not the op lol some one had said somthing about leaving a sight on all night and the battery dies referring to aimpoints and acogs that don't need batteries or the aimpoints with 5 year battery life so I was just throwing out that eotechs are still an option even though the battey life isn't 5 years

Great start indeed. Maybe go with a middle of the road optic down the road, like any RDS from primary arms. great people with a good solid product. Not an aimpoint, but far better than most budget optics. Congrats and happy shooting!

Not my experience.  With optics more than nearly anything else YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
