So I'm soon going to do my first build. It will be a 20 inch DMR style rifle, but there's just one problem. Since CT still has their own retarded AWB, I can't use a FH. I was planning to use a pretty high grade barrel like Lilja or Krieger or CLE or something, but all of these barrels pretty much come threaded, so I have to perm. attach something. What do you think I should do?

It would seem to me that you need to have no more than 1 evil features as long as your lower is "off list" and not selective fire.

The detachable magazine issue is worked around in California by using magazine catches that require a tool to release the mag...hence the magazine becomes 'non-detachable'.

We use bullet buttons and prince 50 mag locks...buy dealing directly with the detachable magazine issue...we then put any damn evil feature we want on our builds. Note the class 3 type so called Assault weapons require that the rifle first have the capacity to accept the detachable magazine.

So If you are not listed in the first part by name, and your build does not have the selective fire functionality, and IT CANNOT ACCEPT A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE....than it is neither type 1 2 or 3.

Otherwise....you might put a fixed stock on or an adjustable stock that has been pinned with a rivet, do not have a grenade launcher or bayonet mount...and than maybe the following:

Find the barrel you want and maybe two inches longer than desired. Have a smith or machinist cut the barrel down to the desired original length and go without a muzzle break OR have the barrel turned down so as to accept a pinned or welded and de-threaded muzzle break, similar to the way Bushmaster pins on the AK breaks. Instead of threads they cut a small section at the muzzle down into a taper...and then put a pressed and pinned threadless break on it.

The bottom line is that you can have 1 evil feature...and most people choose a pistol grip. However there is always the monster man grip or grip less stock as another option.

With a gripless configuraion you can have 1 of the evil features....and in your case it would be the threaded barrel and muzzle break.

I am not an attorney and you should ask fellow citizens what is the best way to go.

Check out Calguns....as we have a very similar law. Learn about magazine locks and gripless configurations. You folks should really start a forum like Calguns to fight back in CT...we are fighting back and winning.

Good luck

Permanently attach a "Thread protector" from ADCO if you don't want a muzzle device.
