I have an Eotech 552 on my M4. Currently it's mounted on the flat top receiver. I'm looking to move it further out down the barrel. I'm wondering what would be better to use, a set of handguards with the built in rails or the A.R.M.S. # 36 S Ex mount? Are the handguards a stable enough platform to maintain zero or should I go with the A.R.M.S. mount? I know the hanguards would add additional rails to mount other accessories but my main concern is maintaining zero.

If you have a Free Float handguard, it will work fine. I have mine mounted on a GG&G FF HG.

It'll work fine to move it forward.

I prefer to keep the weight further back on my gun, because the weight feels heavier when it is out on the front end like that.

As well as a lightweight barrel. Getting the Eotech way out there makes the weapon very front heavy.
