Okay show 'em if you got 'em. I need some motivation to finish mine. All I need to do is get my lower receiver anodized, get an LPK, get a chrome BC/B, register the lower as an SBR, and put it together. Here's some pics of what I have so far. (The upper is on a registered SBR lower receiver and the AKS74U is also a registered SBR).

The lower and stock are about as close to a real 607 as you can possibly get without drilling another extra hole The lower is also one of the very first NDS-XM16E1's Right now it just has Norrells on it, so I need to send it to US Anodizing. I've put it off so long because of ammo prices and getting caught up in 5.45 AKs. I may try to get this done before I get my AK105 done. Or maybe just work on both at the same time if I have the money.

Anywho, post pictures of your own 607s!

+1

I ordered an NDS-XM16E1B lower last week, but I've got a ton of work left to finish my stock. This project is taking me over a year so far...

Nice!! Did you make your stock? Where are all these very authentic stocks turning up from? (meaning the locking rod being pinned to the receiver).

I think it was called "The Official Retro Shorty Pic Thread". I made the thread..it's not in My Topics anymore, and my membership ended like 2 days ago I would renew it but I'm about to spend $270 on a Russian AK74M stock and top cover for my AK105 project

ETA: Wait! I'm stupid. It's not in the archives. Here's a link!

Thanks, the stock pictured is the first one I completed. I've made quite a number of them recently.

Oh uxb, your 607s are so DISGUSTINGly fine, that I just can't quit ogling them!

I knew I should not have looked at this thread too many irons in the fire to try to do one of these too.
Link Posted: 7/4/2008 2:49:33 PM EST
OK, I have been off of the retro forum for a while now. Who is making these buttstocks
now and where do I go to get one? I need a new SBR...

There's one on GB now...

Send a PM to my65pan... He makes them...
Link Posted: 7/4/2008 3:39:19 PM EST
That's nuts! Last time I was really on the retro forum, NO ONE had 607 stocks unless they were lucky enough to have one from TSI.

I guess I'm just really old school

But dang, looking at uxb's 607s really makes me want to get mine done. The top one in his picture (with the fake moderator) is so sweet. One of the nicest AR's I've ever handled. I'm really jealous of the stock, too. Got a nice mottled finish to it.

Dude you need to switch out the upper on that 607 for an M16A1 or slabside upper, rather than that C7.

Nice collection so far, though.
Link Posted: 7/8/2008 6:43:19 AM EST
That's what the extra slabside upper is for.

Just haven't swapped them out yet.

Come on, I know there're more 607s out there!

I ordered a LW 16" from Sarco then sent it to KKF to be cut down. It'll be 11.5" with a slipover flash hider to make it appear shorter.

I got mine on the EE and had ADCO cut it down to 10", crown and thread, and open the gas port to .093". Steve does good work, I've been using him for all my projects since Randall went tango uniform. Doesn't this look beautiful:

Good eye. Government profile. I would have preferred light, but I got the Oly 16" stainless barrel for $70 on the EE...

Got ya. My 607 barrel is heavy under the handguards but is light profile from the FSB forward so it looks correct unless you take the handguards off

Blanco Diablo's barrel started as the one farthest from the camera with the XM607 moderator...

Link Posted: 7/14/2008 11:45:49 AM EST
Well here is my build that I have been working on for a couple years.

Colt 10" Barrel Assembly
TSI Shorty HG
TSI Moderator (Registered)
Colt A1 Upper (CK Forge)
Sendra A1 Lower --- Started the Mod to 607 style....just got a small CNC Mini Mill so I will round lower instead of dremeling that I started with.
607 Buttstock start....needs lots of work.
Missing couple upper parts...HG Straight Ring, Spring and Clip

Link Posted: 7/14/2008 1:06:52 PM EST
Hey I recognize that moderator! Is that one of mine? I still need to get mine out of hock.

Say Edwin what sort of mill did you get?
Link Posted: 7/14/2008 5:38:46 PM EST
Sure thing Tom....it is one of your Moderators. I know they don't do much to silence the .556, but I can say I have one....

Execpt for the Happy switch it is about as close as you can get without spending 16K
