I am in the market for a new heavy barrel, and I have been looking at the barrels offered by Model 1. Does anyone know who makes their barrels, and if they are on par with the Wilson barrels used by Rock River? I would like to get a 24" bull barrel, in stainless. Thanks!

Any negatives on their barrels?

They advertise all their barrels as being E.R. Shaw ..

So, are the Shaw barrels as good as Wilson barrels?

yes they are just as good. Bravo Company uses Shaw to make their barrels. It has also been told that they make barrels for Colt.

I have a 20" Model 1 upper with the Shaw bull barrel and with Black Hills 69gr Siera Matchking molly coated rounds it shoots .4 moa at 100 yards consistently.

I just shot a five shot 2.5 inch group at 410 yards with a 16 chrome lined 6.8 Shaw barrel. It was a fluke but hey kinda cool.

They advertise their gas block as being .938 , hope that helps.

How much work do you think it would be to get a gas block .936 in size to fit? That is such a minute size difference I figure it would fit but who knows.

I'm not sure about getting a smaller gas block on, the one M1S uses kind of "clamps" together, here is a pic of the barrel.
