Anyone build one of these up before?  I was reading somewhere that the BATF might consider this to be a suppresor and so would I have to pay the $200 tax stamp on this upper kit?

Umm
The  M1S XM-177 kit isnt a true XM-177. . .
It has a 5.5 inch FH that looks similar to the XM177's moderator.


So no, there is no tax stamp required for the M1S kit unless you plan on SBRing it.

Agreed, it isn't the same thing, you don't need the tax stamp.
