One company claims to have "firsts".

Unless the boxes have a label on them saying "factory seconds" then they are the real deal. SGAmmo used to sell the factory seconds and they had a very distinctive label on the 20rd boxes.

When I showed it to my friend who was a Marine, he was surprised by it, and said it was the EXACT thing they were issues, box and all.

Palmetto has some in stock, doesn't say if it's firsts or seconds.

Hmm. Was looking at their site yesterday and thought it said they were out.  Will check it out again.

For what it's worth, whatever PSA is selling shot pretty poorly from my 1/9 rifle. Groups opened up literally twice in size compared to 64 grain gold dot.

I have not keep up to speed on this ammo, is it just a OTM round or is it bonded? I seen barrier and a OTM doesn't strike me as being good through barriers...

And that's what PSA has. It's just 25% cheaper at PSA.

Anyone know if there is any difference at all between the AB49 brown box stuff shown in the picture posted near the top of the thread, and the T556TNB1 white box stuff listed in the links?

Just the box as far as I know.

SGA also has the white box stuff, seconds according to them.

SGA's MK318 is also marked 'factory seconds, low velocity'.  Palmetto's MK318 is not so marked, and is very accurate out of my SCAR 16.

So sga has an inferior round, for 3 bucks more. Makes sense. I think I'm going to order more from PSA before they run out.

Psa hasn't run out of mk318 since it's been relesed to the public a year and a half ago or so.  O they also stated in thier forum that these are first run not seconds that was a while back.
