Looks like some kind of old, foreign (German, Russian?) Aimpoint, but I'm just guessing.  What do you see when you turn it on?  Red dot, crosshairs, Elvis?

Not an MPSII. Was made for a foreign mil. Battery is not replaceable. Shims on BUIS is to adjust POA/POI. Standard red dot reticule.
Well made like the rest of them.

I seen Elvis after the red hairs........ No it really appears to be a 2 or 4 MOA dot.....

Interesting.  What kind of batteries does it take?

It does not appear to have a "user" removable battery

Midway was selling them a couple months back, but I can't for the life of me remember the model name.

Are these meant to be "disposable" or use a non-battery power source?  Or do you need someone wearing a radioactive suit to reinstall another battery once it goes dead?

Midway still has them up...  however they are sold out and looks to have been a limited offer.  Sounds like they had replacable batteries but only at the Aimpoint factory.  For $600 bucks, I think I rather get a Comp M4...

Doosky-dorfy-dooty-doo (sorry, that's the only Swedish I know )  I guess my question is......why would anybody buy a $600.00 red-dot scope with an unserviceable battery?  Kinda like Apple....Why would you buy a phone/MP3 player/I-Pad that you have to send back when the battery takes a dump?  My first (and last Apple crap) I-Pod lasted 4 months before the battery wouldn't hold a charge.

Just seems kinda stupid to me.

This. It's the Aimpoint CS. A number from a military overrun were imported and sold by Midway originally for $600 but the price finally dropped to $400 clearance. Aimpoint will replace the battery if needbe but it's not user-replaceable.

That's my vague recollection- IIRC it was going for an attractive price at the time they still had them. Otherwise, as has been pointed out, just get a Comp M4 or M4s. And then some buyers might be attracted by the "cool" factor of having an unusual Aimpoint. Whatever they want...
