Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are for a mill spec collapsible buffer tube? I am thinking about buying a LMT SOPMOD Stock, and hopeful it will fit on the tube for my old Fiberlite four position stock.

I think its 1.170 mil-spec and 1.180 comercial.if its a Colt,LMT or CMT then it will fit if its RRA,Bushy,Cav Arms or some of the cheap imports its larger.

My Vltor buffer tube measures at 1.150" OD and my LMT tube is 1.200" OD both are suppose to be Mil-Spec.

If you're going to use a LMT SOPMOD then the LMT tube with 1.200" should be the right number since they're made by the same manufacturer.

To be sure what the Mil-Spec dimension should be, someone will have to look at the blue print (engineering drawing).

I have a LMT Defender 2000 carbine, will the LMT SOPMOD stock fit my factory buffer tube?

CMT also is making the mil.spec'ed tubes now too.

Or at least their advertised that way. I hope so, I just bought one but haven't gotten around to digging the micrometer out yet to compare.

The Vltor and the LMT buffer tubes measurements are actually the same at 1.150" OD (not 1.200 for the LMT in my previous post).

I measured my buffer tubes again with a dial caliper at least 10 places each tube. YMMV

I have been exchanging my LMT and Vltor stocks and they fit the same.
