Hello,

I recently got a new KAC FF Carbine RAS. It has 4 funny marks at the rear (receiver end) of the tube at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o'clock. They look like "rubs", but are actually unevenness in the metal. I'm going to assume they are some kind of forming marks, but I'm just not sure. Anyone else notice these? Also, the lettering is a tad discolored. Is that common? Could that happen as a result of installation, oiling, etc?

Thanks,
BoB

Those are normal, I forget what they are for.

They are were the welds are "filled in." The rear central "core" is a separate piece that is "pressed in" and then welded to become one with the rail forend.

You oughta see the weld marks on the DD FF handguards, KAC smoothed out the weld, DD left them there. Either way they don't affect functionality.

CLP will make the lettering change from white to an off white color.
