MI released these a little while ago. I had a set of the #17's that I've beat to death, so I was anxious to see how these would do.
The most notable differences are the addition of four QD sling swivels, and a top rail extension that extends back over the delta ring.
Obligatory Stickman image.
I really liked the ones I had. The fit tight on my gun, the rails were straight, and they took any accessory I could put on them. My first question was were these as good as the old ones. Were they as tight, were they as well made, were they as light.
The answer to all those is yes.
The rails are cut to accept the KAC rail cover panels. I have tried Tango Down panels, Magpul panels, and KAC panels. They all work fine. If you are anal about your rail covers, you may be somewhat frustrated in that the swivels take up space, and make it challenging to cover every slot. If you are so inclined.
The QD swivels do limit rotation. While I don't use or care for the forward mounted swivels, I am finding more and more people that do use them. So this does offer versatility for some.
The rails drop right in and do fit very snug. There is no play at all on this particular gun.
All my stuff bolts right on, and I have yet to have an accessory not fit.
For now these are on my BCM 11.5" SBR. The rail covers are Magpul, the light mount and hand stop are Gear Sector. The light is a Surefire G2 with a shock bezel, and the fixed rear sight is the DD.
Overall I like them. They are not free floating, but they are well made and relatively inexpensive. If they hold up as well as my old set, they'll probably out last me.
