Currenty I have a Bushmaster M4/A2 that has an Eotech 510 mounted on top of the carry handle. The other day I saw in interesting article in a magazine that talked about mounting optics like an eotech on 2 piece handguards that are NOT free floating. The writer of the article claimed that he had done this and had no troubles with accuracy at all. Anyways I am using a pair of Midwest Industries 2 piece tactical handguards (not the free floating type) and wondering how the accuracy would be if I mounted my eotech on the handguards even though they are not free float. Obviously we all know that 2 piece handguards have some movement in them unlike the free float handguards. Just interesting in what others thoughts and opinions are.

I've tried it just to see what would happen. I don't ever plan on doing it again unless I mount it to a free float handguard!
