How does a midlength upper compare to a standard 16" upper(non m4)? I did a search and couldn't find much. From just looking I know the handguards are different, and the midlength would have a longer sight radius, but is one more reliable than the other? The RRA uppers have caught my eye.

The mid has a longer gas system for a smoother recoil pulse and some say more reliable
