Great outfit!
What are your "have been there" customers thinking about the S&B Short Dot
as the compromise between speed & target ID?

How well do these barrels take abuse?  Would one of the carbon fiber wrapped Mike Rock blanks make a better choice for a shorty?

The carbon fiber used by ABS is not like the carbon fiber on golf clubs or air craft.  I am not sure if it has been said by TWL exactly what it is, but the carbon wrapped barrels by ABS is a certin type of matrix that allows greater heat transfer (300%).  The data can be found else were on this site.

Nice set up above.

Wes,

Is that a spot weld on the Krink?  I assume that it is part of the Krink assembly and not a permanent attachement to the barrel (?).  There would be no reason to weld a muzzle device on a SBR, or would there?

The spot weld is between the brake itself and the threaded adapter.

By the way, C4iGrant has a bunch of Noveske barrels in stock and ready to ship. I purchased a Noveske 10.5" barrel from him two weeks ago.

Wes, what you really need is your 07/SOT.....then you don't have to abuse your investment.  I think you guys are long overdue for an SOT

Wes,

Thanks buddy, much appreciated.  The likelihood of me making it out your way anytime soon is slim, but I'll be sure to take you up on the offer should I be in the neighborhood.

And I REALLY like to hear that you're testing some AR10 uppers.....cannot wait to see where the 7.62 saga goes

Ya, that would be one way to put it.

BTW, does anybody know the actual, effective length of the Krink?  With the forward part removed.  I'm on the brink of installing a Krink on a chopped midlength barrel and I want to know how much I can chop and still be 16"+.  It's the only legal way I can play and not have a super long rig.

IF PAT ROGERS OFFERS ADVICE ON HARDWARE, ONE WOULD DO WELL TO HEED IT.

THE FORTE OF THE CARBON WRAPPED BARREL IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND RIGIDITY, BUT NOT NECESSARILY THE ABILITY TO HANDLE "ABUSE", I.E., EXTREME HEAT BUILD-UP FROM HIGH ROUND COUNT OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. REMEMBER, HEAT IS TRANSFERRED VIA CONDUCTION, CONVECTION, AND RADIATION. THERE IS LITTLE WAY FOR THE CARBON FIBER WRAPPED BARREL TO GET RID OF ITS INTERNAL HEAT AFTER HARD USE, SINCE THE CARBON FIBER WRAP IS SUCH AN EFFICIENT INSULATOR.

Is this a quote from Pat or you?  Is it he or you that is claiming that twl is lying about the increase in disipation of heat in the carbon fiber wrapped barrels and the increase in life and ability to handle sustained fully automatic fore above the 4150 chrome  lined barrels due to greater ability to disipate heat and NOT act as an insulator?  They claim more rounds to cook off and decreased throat errosion compared to 4150 chrome lined or regular stainless both high volume full auto and over the long haul.  Just wanting the truth as I was going to purchase a 10.5 or 11.5 and dont want to waste my money on hype if someone is lying about their product.
