My Leupold VX-II Tactical scope has 1/4 MOA adjustments. Am I correct in calculating the change in MOA as the range increases?

1/4 MOA scope adjustments = 1/4 inch at 100 yards, 1/2 inch at 200 yards, 3/4 inch at 300 yards, 1 inch 400 yards, 1.25 inches at 500 yards, 1.5 inches at 600 yards, 1.75 inches at 700 yards, 2 inches 800 yards?

you must think in MOA.
don't think in clicks.  don't think in inches at X hundred yds.

say your shooting at 200 yds.
you are 2" to the right.  that is 1 MOA so you are right 1 MOA.  move the scope LEFT 1 MOA.  not four clics.

say you are zeroed at 200 yds.  your come up for 500 yds is 30 inches.
that is 6 MOA (5 100 yds times 6MOA is 30).  so come up 6 MOA and shoot.

now save yourself a step.  figure out all your come ups and convert them to the closest MOA.  then when the time to shoot comes all you have to do is "spin up".

sure you will be off a tiny bit but for example at 700 yds if you can shoot 1 MOA your shooting 7" group.  a standard target is about 3-4  MOA at 700 yds.  so you see.  you can be off quite a bit and still get a hit.
