I am curious, since we hardly produce anything in this country any more,
who manufactures ammo in this country for our military and where?

Also are a lot of US Ammo companies manufacturing in other countries?

Thanks!!!

The majority of ammo for our military is made by Lake City in Independence, Missouri.  I am also not aware of any US ammo manufacturers out-sourcing to other countries to make ammo for them.

How about winchester outsourcing to IMI to make Q3131a?  That's one off the top of my head.  I'm sure that there's others.  I believe that Amerc ammunition had someone from isreal make some ammo for them awhile back.

IMI used to make ammo for winchester so they could sell it to civilians.  IMI no longer makes ammo for Winchester.  And even when they did it was only one type of ammo, and that was only so Win. could get around the ban on selling Mil. ammo to civilians.

From what I've read, the entire output of Lake City is going towards the war, and the military imports from IMI are being used for stateside military training. There are other domestic outfits that manufacture ammunition. The military has small contracts with other manufacturers as well right now just due to the huge volume of ammo that is geting used in the sandbox.
