the pin is spring loaded, you can use like a straight edge piece of metel to force it down far enough for the stock to slide off.  you just have to push that pin down far enough to release it from the extension tube.

Thanks. I guess I need to find a "tool" that won't stab in the hand when it slips.

I stacked 2 pennies on each side of the cross-pin to allow me to push the main pin all the way clear of the buffer tube. Worked great... no hand-slicing required

I just grapped the cross pin on each side with my left hand, and pulled them down.  It pulled the center pin low engough that I could just pull the stock off with my right hand.

There is a hole in the pin. I just put in a 90 degree hook and pulled it down.

Cross pin? Main pin? Anyone have a pic or diagram of these things? I don't understand

On "most" other stocks you simply pull down on the adjustment lever, opposite the way you'd pull on it to adjust the stock.  That pulls the pin out further.

Go look at your adjustment lever.  See that pin it moves?  Go pull down on that pin, but you can't use the lever to do it on the CTR.  Use your fingers.

Why do you need to take it off the buffer tube?  It works better when it is on the tube.

It's a stiff spring, but just apply a little force.

I like the two pennies idea
