I don't know much about buttstocks and the like, so bear with me. Who sells a standard collapsible stock (nothing fancy) that doesn't rattle? Do all the standard M4 collapsible stocks rattle? I dont' really have the money for a VLTOR or Magpul.

Thanks!

I am new to the real M4 stocks.  I have had my Bushmaster M4 stock for one week now.  I carry my AR daily - mainly from the house to the car, from car to house, foddling periodically, multiple carrying trips during the weekends, etc.

What's wrong with a little wobble ???  I rather like the loose fit.

I have a Colt M4 stock that's pretty tight, and an RRA stock that's not quite as tight, but it doesn't really "rattle" either. The RRA costs about half what the Colt does.

I think you have to take it on a stock by stock basis. Some Colt stocks rattle, Some don't Etc. Etc.

PS: The fake Crane stock (with a vltor tube) I purchased from Greeno has no rattle at all, The tighest fitting telestock I have owned ( & I have owned quite a few!)

Buy a used Magpul on the EE.  I sold one for  $100 recently used because it was the 93 and not 93A model.

MOST of the current production Rock Rivers I have seen were relatively rattle free.  Colt is the worst offender in my experience (no, Im not a Colt hater, just not a member of the Colt  Koolaid Drinkers).

No you are drinking the Haterade.

Vltor told me that they try to hand match each stock to each tube (in their kits), if that makes any difference to you.

I am running a Cavalry Arms M4 stock on a M1S tube. Perfect rattle free fit.

I had the exact opposite experience with the Cav Arms M4 stock, it rattled worse than anything.  The RRA stocks rattle, the Bushmaster stock rattle.  I have a Vltor and a LMT/Crane and neither one rattle.

If you do not like the rattle (I can relate here) then take some advice from someone who had been there, pony up the money and get the good shit the FIRST time.

Eh, and sometimes that doesnt work.

I have a Vltor tube, with a LMT Gen 2 M4 style stock *not the crane one*, and it still has a bit of rattle to it.  Not as bad as the stock it replaced, but still...it ain't perfect.

Either way, I know its quality stuff, so the rattle doesnt really bother me too much.  Doesnt affect function or durability, infact probably makes it a little easier to use.
