I think he's saying a real M-4A1 would cost a lot, it'd be full auto. An M-4gery (civi legal) you could probably build for around $600, give or take.

He’s eluding to the fact that a M4A1 would have that third happy selector position. Check out the web sites of the kit companies like J&T or Del-Ton. Pick the kit you want then add about $85-$120 to that to cover the price of a lower receiver. |

1/9 or 1/7 1/9 is the "universal" twist, 1/7 is issue standard |

If you go second-hand, you could get in for around $500
New............around $650 with decent parts If you built it with every part purchased separately, it could run you $1,500  Sort of like building a car by shopping at PEP Boys..
