Barrel length has little to do with accuracy - just muzzle velocity.
M4s are plenty accurate - Just ask NewARguy to show you the targets... |

Better to shoot 5.56 or .223 for accuracy? what about cost difference between the two ammunitions?

Standard Bushies can do 2 MoA or better OFF bench using mil-spec ammo.

Generally the .223 is better for accuracy. You do get what you pay for with ammo.
Cost depends. Sometimes the surplus 5.56 is the cheapest - other times is the foreign made .223 (like Wolf or PMC). |

I have two of them. Unless you are very good AND very serious with your shooting, they will outshoot you. Feed it good ammo and you will be plenty pleased with the results.

The 14.5 inch barrel gives the same accuracy as a 20 out to 350 yds.

Today, at a sitting-perfect position at a range with nice blocks & sand bags to hold your barrel, I put 10 rounds in the 8 inch diameter black circle on the target from using the iron sights alone at 100 YARDS. NO SCOPE. This after sighting her in over a few hours. The 8" circle was smaller than the width of the front sight post from my view.
