I'm really starting to like the RECCE style M4's. Something about the VCOG that looks so right on a Block 2 gun.

Re-barreled my Block II FSP with my spare Colt 14.5" gov't profile barrel sitting in my parts box;  sorry, all out of SOCOM barrels.  At least the other Block II full length rail has a 14.5" SOCOM barrel (and tax stamp!)

The 6920 barrel on it I had cut to 10.3 and gas port opened up for my MK18 CQBR. Now to find the RIS II rail

gotcha, thanks.  I prefer the gen 2's over the gen 3's for that reason.

I've had one gen 3 su230 in my lifetime and three gen 2's.  I always go back to the gen 2.

I have a gen 3 as well, but bought it when I had no idea the issued ones (NSN) had to be FDE; so I bought the black (grey) one.

Now that I have eyed the FDE ones, I'd eat my hands for that. 2k thrown like that.

Could sell it and then try and look for a gen 2 or 3 in FDE, but I would have to take the loss etc.

Congrats, it's gorgeous and I think it truly adds that magic to the clone.

shouldn't be too hard to offload the black one without too much of a loss.

They do have a civilian gen 3 "non" su230 in FDE which a lot of these cloners run believe it or not, but the reticle is not that of an su230.

I just got my cast off and have zero right hand strength right now so this upper remains un-fired until I can get to the range.

I know the feels. When I got my cast off and was told I needed surgery asap I went to the range 2 days before my surgery. Couldn't shoot all that well with just a brace but it was worth it. I use a non clone correct civi fde elcan as well. Got a pretty good deal from kerif.

Most any TA31 will look the part, but if you want something that has been in the .mil supply system, the TA31F, TA31RCO-M4 or TA31RCO-M150 would fit the bill.

ETA:  A TA01NSN could work as well if you don't want a fiber optic model.

I just replaced the Vortex Gen 2 Razor 1-6 I had on my Block 2 with a TA01 NSN.  The Vortex and mount was just too damned heavy!  If I'm gonna have a 10.5# rifle it's gonna be a 7.62!   I'll post a better pic when I get home.  I shot a couple hundred rds through this setup last weekend and I love the light weigh and ranging abilities of the ACOG on a Block 2.  Ignore the non Block 2 junk.

Welcome to the TA01NSN on a Block II club! This is the setup I've kept for the longest on any of my rifles so far. Optics usually come and go through my collection, but I've stuck with this one.

Sent some lead down range today, my first time shooting past 100 yards.  Shooting a steel plate about 3 feet tall and a foot wide was easy at 200, 475 yards with some wind was tricky but I scored some hits. Beyond happy with this gun.
