Just ordered a Schmid ambi safety for my block 1 build as the Colts have been out of stock. It shipped today then tonight I got notification that the Colt was in stock. Lmao oh well. The Colt is built by Schmid and it's the same one just no cage code. I'm sure I'll be fine. Who knows. If the Colt is in stock on the first, maybe I'll order one and throw the Schmid on my block 2 as I have 60° throw on there now that looks out of place even though I love the throw.

I'll decide what to do with it. I'll put the Colt on my block 1 most likely as it's mostly going to be colt parts. The Schmid was 22.00 after shipping, so not really worth sending back. I love the feeling of the 60° throw but don't love the looks. ![]() |

The differences can elude you at first glance unless you know what to look for, I'm sure the lurkers are thinking WTF does he mean by hotdog lever. It means the long side's lever extends further on the inside towards the middle, the non-hotdog lever stops on the outer edge. |

I bought a “colt” from AU yesterday should get here today/tomorrow.
The previous ones I got were def Schmidt’s with hotdogs but are smoother then my actual colt that I got from G&R. I accidentally selected 2 day air so hopefully I can update with pictures tomorrow for anyone wondering if they are legit or not (their updated pics seem to be correct but it is AU). |

My colt shipped out today. Both the Colt and Schmid should arrive next week. I'll post pics of both. My delta ring should arrive as well, so that's another part down. I hope to purchase a colt upper next month and a gas tube if I can.

I’d keep an eye on those “colt” safeties AU sells.
A while back I went through a whole shit storm with them and their knock off safeties. Long story short, unless they have cage codes, they’re not colt. Colt versions are able to be used left or right handed with the shorty arms able to be swapped. Colt versions do not have a ground down S on them. The ones I received were ground down Schmid levers that you can buy for $20. This was confirmed by a Colt procurement rep that helped me out. I had a whole thread on this. It’s archived now but AU has lost my business. https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/Colt-Ambi-safety-changed-EDIT-Nope-it-s-just-AU-lied-/118-770389/ |

Im debating if I should ship my front sling adapter or let it move. It will have quite a bit of movement when I install it if I don't shim it. What do you guys think?

I mean it's extremely simple to shim, just cut 2 strips of aluminum from a soda/beer can.

Here they are. They are different safeties. The Colt can be reversed and is cast short lever and not cut down and has cage code marked.

So about to get my feet wet with NV and decided I want my 1.5/pr to be the host. What’s everyone using? Atpial-c or FP? For those using the atpial, what’s your thoughts? Mainly 100 yards and in.

It's not adjustable and is only good out to 75 - 100 yards. If you want more power for the illuminator, then pick up a FP. |

Quick query for the block I acog.
I read on page 1 that the correct acog would either be the TA01nsn or the TA01-ECOS. Do you all know if the TA01-ECOS i often see at ebay with the RMR(Tan or FDE with black rmr on top) kosher? Or its better off with a regular TA01nsn? Thanks! |

The new production are cerakote fde and it's not the same. The crosshair in the ecos models is excellent. |
