I recently came across a M1 web sling. It wasn't made of the usual materal, rather it was a green nylon "seatbelt" type material. The metal parts were a flat grey color. It wasn't a recent repro as it was definatly old based on smell, light rust, and other subjective condition indicators. Could this have been a late US issue sling? Foregin?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

If it's nylon (not cotton) webbing, it's for the M14. The Garand-type web sling has been made for Garands (green cotton webbing); M14s (green [newer ones black] nylon webbing); and the M16 (black nylon webbing).
