Neither. The GG&G MADD sight is lower than both (I think). |

Timinator,
I had a #40L mounted with a Super Sniper scope and with the rear Butler Creek cap on the scope, it contacted the sight. I now have the Troy Dual-Aperture on this rifle and it easily clears the scope and end cap.  The GG&G may be lower, I have no experience with it. |

You can't go wrong with either Troy or ARMS, i consider the Troy and ARMS as the best BUIS on the market.

I have both. The Troy is about 1mm lower. They are both great sights. There is little or no substantive difference between the two. The only thing I can think of is that the Troy defaults to the large aperature while the ARMS defaults to the small one.

The Troy also has more difficult to adjust but more resistant to tampering windage knob and it locks up solidly which I prefer. I have never seen a Troy sight broken because it locks in the up position. I used a 40L on my rifle quite a while and prefer the Troy in every way but its blue color.

Agreed. And all of my Troys are a really dark, deep black in color? |

excuse my ignorance but won't their be an issue due to the BUIS mounted on top of a swan? Basically, won't the BUIS be too high for the FS?
I ask because I just ordered: ARMS #40 "stand alone" BUIS ARMS #22m68 with cantilever spacer Aimpoint Comp M2 All this to go on to a RRA flat-top upper with standard FS. Do I need to adjut myy order accordingly? |

Yeah and you need to adjust/rotate your Aimpoint too. You need to turn it so its square to the rifle. That way when you go to adjust the optic the adjustments will go side to side or up and down.

And rotate the flip up caps on the unit so they open down instead of up so they dont block your vision around the sight.

The TROY and ARMS #40L are my two favorites for flip down BUIS's. I would have to go with the TROY as my preferred BUIS....

With that super elivation, a long day maybe not at the range, the FAA would have contacted the local police to nvestigate reports re. someone shooting at aircraft.  Jack |
