I want the loudest muzzle break available. A MAJOR plus would be a massive fireball with each shot. I want something that either makes people stare in awe or leave when Im at the range. A good hair moving shockwave that travels rear at about a 45deg angle would be another added plus.

So who makes it? How much is it?

Bushmaster Mini-Y comp

My money is on the JP Enterprises brake.

no visible flash, but it sure does turn heads.

This is a two-part combo in the AR: Miculek brake and ammo loaded with AA2200 powder (contains very little flash suppressant). Best fireball I have ever seen comes from using this powder in the Marlin .45-70 guide gun, draws a crowd every time!

The Smith Enterprise Compensator makes the Mini Y sound like a pop gun [:D]

The Cetme's are pretty impressive with the factory installed brake.

I don't know where "UZB" is, but I sure as hell hope it's nowhere near Georgia. Tell me, does anyone here want this guy for a friend? Don't think I do![:D][;D]

I don't know about the others, but the BM mini-y comp is obnoxious... After the first shot at night, I can't see squat (and neither can anyone else); and the blast impacts everyone around me. I can't wait to get rid of it...

I bought one from an AR15 user to use on my 7.5" as a flash enhancer.... did not serve the purpose.. Use 3131A or PMC (PS headstamp w/red primer paint) with a bare muzzle.

Which Georgia? Just a guess but "UZB" is probably Uzbekistan.

Fourth! I take my Bushy to quaint little range that doesnt see too many rifles like ours. The back blast from the Mini-Y gets some stares!

Off topic but, I had a guy firing a barrett semi .50 at the range the other day... i was 15 feet away from him and it felt like i was getting slapped across the face every time he capped one off.....UNDERDOG

It isn't the loudest, but the Smith brake on a 14.5 inch barrel will produce a muzzle flash that has to be seen to be believed.

The bushmaster AK brake is very loud! you also can get a very significant flash with the right ammo

The Bushy Mini-Y and Lake City ammo is a pretty potent combo. One mag full is guarenteed to clear off your shooting bench. Who needs all of that clutter anyway?

I have to say the factory brake on the ArmaLite M15A2

For the loudest most obnoxious(not to mention VERY effective brake) look no further than the Mini-Y Comp. I've yet to have someone not comment on it at regulated ranges.

While my "BM AK 47 break" is loud and bright, I found that, even when "silenced" by a TAPCO cover, my neighbors quickly leave when my ejects pelter them if I don't have a screen or catcher set up. Few neighbors make me lower my screens but sometimes it takes more than show to make them go. It is amazing how sensitive someone shooting a 2" snub nose .22 cal pistol at a 100 yard target can be.

Wear shooting glasses and ear protectors is all I can say....Let the Flash Bang go.I love it.[:D]

Federal XM193 ball has a beach-ball-sized muzzle flash when shot from a 16" barrel without a FS. I just finished a low-light class and that stuff was cool!!! Count on losing your night vision momentarily, though.

I have been to a couple classes where the instructor fired students guns in front of the class to demonstate the various flash suppressors and muzzle brakes. The worst fireball I have seen is a bare muzzle. The loudest I have noticed is the Bushmaster Mini-Y-Comp but I don't have a lot of experince. At my first Gunsite carbine class, the guy next to me on the line was shooting a mini-y-comp. I didn't notice it at all unless I got done with my string before him. I was concentrating on my own shooting and totally tuned it out. But when I was done, there was a huge blast and pressure wave.

The JP is the loudest. I have it on a 24" V-match. I usually shoot XM 193 or reloads throuh it. If you are shooting it it is the most comfortable gun to shoot. If you are a bystander it will rattle your fillings. My wife shot about a hundred rounds through mine as I watched, I went home with a headache for the rest of the day. I have a wedge weight in the butstock. The rifle does not move when fired. It is really nice to see the bullet impact. Cruizer

If you want the absolute loudest put the JP recoil eliminator on a super short barrel. 7.5-10.5" range!
Link Posted: 10/4/2003 11:43:02 AM EDT
I have one of the JP's on my .308 Savage 110FP that was originally on a .223 AR, I bored it out to 30 cal dims. NOBODY wants to sit next to me at the range, and all my hunting buddies scream at me to wait until they can get well behind me when we are out in the field and I am about to let one rip. Usaully a Sierra 110 gr HP Varminter behind a buttload of 748, wooosh! Anway the JP's got my vote. Fritze Out.
