I'm seeing tons and tons of new Gray Teflon 30rd magazines coming in.

But I havent heard much about black teflon.  Anybody in the business know why?

maybe a bit off the subject, and RustyTX you may be able to shed some light on the difference in the Teflon mags now available

I have several hard-surfaced Teflon mags (Labelles I believe) that have an almost enamel or ceramic feel to them. Others I have that are Teflons, are barely distinguishable as Teflon at all- many of them black.

Here is a pic of one of the Labelles (The one shown on top- for color reference). I think it is the finest magazine south of the HK models. Absolutely awesome.

Are some just 'lightly" coated and therefore not as noticeable?

D&H makes a great black teflon mag, bought quite a few and no complaints. Reasonable priced, very slick finish. Bought from a dealer on EE.

I can't say for sure redfisher, but we see variances between lots that we attribute to different batches of the coating (and dye in the case of the blacks).

The only time I notice the Teflon coat is after handling them all day - it leaves a strange feeling on your hands

None of your fingers have fallen off, have they?

The green color is just to identify the new follower from the old ones.  You wouldn't anyway see the follower after you load the bullets in the magazines.  As long as it performs to my expectations, I wouldn't mind what color a follower comes in.

We are not talking about followers here.  We are talking about grey and black teflon, it's a coating that D&H uses on their mags.  And, the differences in followers is just not the color.

Might because that is what the mag companies are set up IE. US Government contracts and those are the specs.
