Hi guys, haven't tried all the adjustable stocks yet so I don't know. Which adjustable stock has the longest length of pull and is also solid? Thanks

Longest length of pull? Magpul.. longer than A2
Most solid? Magpul by far

This is not debatable.

Agreed on both counts. Except for lacking storage space, the Magpull wins on every attribute I can think of.

The Magpul might be the longest but it's certainly not the strongest (damn, that sound cheezy).

Magpul M93A maxes out at 13.98"
Ace SOCOM Long Version maxes out at 12.5" with the 1" rubber pad.
Magpul wins there.

Ace SOCOM is aluminum and uses a prioprietary gusset to tighten. It's said to be 6 times stronger than an A2 stock and judging from their shorter model, I believe it. This is by far the strongest looking and feeling stock I have ever seen.
Magpul is plastic which saves you weight at the cost of durability. It's a great stock for being plastic but it still doesn't change the fact it's plastic.

Now, does this matter? For a target or range gun, I'd go with whichever stock is more comfortable (I prefer the SOCOM because I'm a shorter guy and the inch of soft rubber at the end feels great against my shoulder). If you're a big guy and you really need that extra inch and a half of length, then by all means, get the Magpul and you won't be unhappy. If you want to take down a door with your AR, then the Ace stock is the way to go.

The reciever extension on a Magpul is aluminum not plastic.

caneau, I'd venture to say the Magpul is stronger then you give it credit for. Have you actually handled or own one?

MAGPUL is definetly stronger than you have given it credit.

I have done a door with the M93A...

NAG, Nope - But I'll do one in "controlled scientific" conditions and photo it...

I've seen one but never shot with one. Ace is ALL metal except for the foam cheek piece and the butt pad. We need a stock toughness test to settle this once and for all.

You can get 14.8" out of a VLTOR A1 Modstock if you install it on a carbine multiposition tube and extend it out. That's 0.8" longer than the A2. Don't know how that compares to the Magpul and this really isn't truly a collapsable stock, but the option is there.

You guys are great. Thanks for the quick responses. I was looking for a collapsible stock that would go with my 24" and my 16" flat top uppers.

Mine measures 14 1/2" , [extended position]. This is a longer alternative with good ergos and storage. Can be adjusted to A-2 length also. Know that you can also slide off the A-1 and slide on the Colt or Vltor carbine stock. Mine is dedicated and will stay long but this is a great option for a one gun build. IMHO.
