Have a little extra cash this month, need to put a scope on top my flat-top AR15 rifle, which of these would do the job better? Both are close in price & I have Leupold on most of my rifles now. Not sure why I should change my Leupold ways now.
Several here have commented that the Nikon clarity & light gathering is awesome, can it take the pounding of a semi-auto?

AR-15 recoil shouldn't bother either scope. I think the Nikon glass is equal to Leupold Vari-X III in quality

I have several leuopold scopes and love them all with the exception of the one vx2 that I have on my 220 Swift. The only problem is the the windage and elevation knobs don't click when turned. So you can't count off your adjustments you have to look. Minor complaint but I wish I bought the vx3 for that gun as well.
