As I get deeper into 3 Gun, I find I need a variable power optic. I really
like the above mentioned optic. It looks like it has great reviews, I'd like to
hear what ARFcom has to say

Also I read on Leupold's website that the reticule works best with 62gr rounds,
my club wants us to use 55gr on steel targets, will this really matter, ballistically
speaking?

Also the rifle I plan to use is a KAC SR-15 16" barrel 1/7 twist

Couple of things:

1). The reticle doen't have daylight visible illumination

2). There will be less difference between 62gr and 55 gr than there will be compared to the actual data the reticle was mapped for versus your actual barrel length (read that as velocity) and local atmospheric conditions and altitude.

So... It should be close enough.

For 3-gun in the VX6 line, I would recommend you look at the VX6 FireDot BDC. The green reticle isn't very bright but you can send it in to Leupold custom to have them switch out to Red, which makes it visible in daylight.

45-Seventy doesn't the semi circle have illumination?

It does.... But it's not visible in midday like a Burris, Steiner, Firedot, etc.

It's only visible in low light or darkness which really limits the utility.

Honestly, I think Leupold kinda blew it with this one.
