Does the Leupold mk 4 spr 1.5-5 mr/t illuminated scope have a first focal plane or second? I cant find any documentation on the thing.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Antoine

I really can't think of a reason to need FFP on a scope that only goes to 5x. Either you are on the bottom for fast target acquisition shooting in close, or at 5x for any use where reticle subtensions are needed. And reticles tend to be more useful in LPV scopes if SFP.

Many, including myself, prefer SFP in all variable scopes until magnification is in the 14x range or higher.

I am ignorant about the situation, but your point is valid and taken. Are you saying the scope is supposed to work like a red dot in low 1x magnification? So the other in between settings ie. 2x-4x is basically are along just for the ride? Then the 5x is for the sharp shooting?
Man that is a big problem solver for me. I think I am about 15 years behind in tech and gear. I am running a SOCOM barreled M4 with Aimpont M2 KAC RAS and more antiquities.
I avoid looking at the new stuff.
I really appreciate you 2 cents, even though it is more like 200 bucks, because I didnt have a clue.

Thank you

Antoine

Yes, with 1.5-5x you are highly likely to spend 99% of your time at one end or the other and using your reticle for holdovers or hold offs only at 5x. So seeking out FFP makes no sense to me in such a scope. Would you really shoot beyond a 50/250 yard zero at anything except 5x?
