The upper and lower receivers and barrel were done by www.bearcoat.com and were like this when I purchased the rifle (the Bushmaster camo version). I don't particularly like this camo job, but for what I paid for the rifle, I couldn't pass it up.

Interesting use of Inch handguards on a Metric rifle! Looks good! Editted-OOps, I looked again and it's a Metric barrel with an inch kit and fixed charging handle..my mistake.

Nice, I like the way the reddish color is sparingly laid in, giving me some incentive to paint one of mine up. Robert

hey mark, how did you get your stock pinned in that position? did you do that yourself or did you buy it that way?
Link Posted: 8/24/2003 2:12:23 AM EST
I used epoxy and also drilled it in two spots, then installed roll pins. One was in the latch pin/latch/stock, the other the stock. This was before it was installed. It's right where I like it and it doesn't rattle! Not like I can change it if I didn't! Mark

How'd you pattern them?

Shorty AK- I used all Krylon ultra flat camo paint on it. I >degreased it well, rubbed it down with alcohol. I used tan on the base >coat, then OD and sparingly brown. I baked the base coat at approx 180 in >my oven for 2 hours, then just let the other stuff air dry. It has approx >6-700 rounds out of it. Other than a couple a dings here and ther(shell >deflector)it is holding upwell. I got it pretty hot, the paint on the >barrel is fine as ever. Breakfree gives it alittle sheen, but hasn't hurt >it. > >I cut patterns out, ideas from BDU's and held/taped them in place. The >other Car is done different. I used the same base coat. But instead of cut >outs, I walked around my yard and neighbors and picked off some tree/shrub >pieces. I kind of like that better. Evergreen pieces seem to be better >suited for this though. > >I've done other rifles with Aluma-Hyde II and like that also. I wish they >would expand the color line though. That is more durable than the Krylon. > >It may not be as high tech as Dura Coat, etc. But I wouldn't want to spend >that kind of money and scratch it and cry like a baby. Touch up is easy. > >Mark

yeah those look good, my CAMO job (see above) is mil-spec and has life time warranty, other than the PITA of having to send it, im not worried about the dings and scratches. [:D]

AR10 A4, Bushmaster A3 that blends very well when out in dried grass areas while wearing 3 color BDUs, perfect for hiding out in Kalifornistan when a black outline is all too easy to spot. die-tryin, did you do that yourself or send it someplace. If you had it done, who did it and how much was it?
