The last 2 LPKs that I used had extra parts, is this normal? I have never had extra parts yet in them. It kinda freaked me out, i was freaking out that i forgot something.

The last one I got had a few extra of the really small and easy to loose parts... I believe it was the spikes tactical upgraded parts kit with the battle trigger...

My Stag Arms kit and an extra detent, air launched one trying to get the front takedown pin in.  So, I'm glad that it did.

The Spikes kit I bought had a couple extra springs and detents in it. I think when these are assembled, someone sits in front of a bunch of bins filled with different parts and that dude has to put 1 from bin A, 2 from bin B, 1 from bin C....pretty soon it's a pinch from every bin goes in the kit. After a while, you're bound to get a extra spring or detent.

SEND THE PARTS BACK

They will turn in to a $1000.00 build.

I once built a rifle do to a extra set of handguards

This is very true.  I literally built a lower last night due to the fact I had extra parts from numerous LPK's that had extra pieces.  I had no intentions of starting a new build but once I figured out I had an extra LPK I went and bought a lower.

Edit:  I actually bought 3 lowers.

My LWRC sent me everything I needed and that was all.  No extras.

The last 2 Double Star LPKs I've used had a couple extra parts in them.

A buddy of mine got an M16 LPK when he ordered an AR parts kit.  Does that count?  He promptly sent it back.

WHY?

I always have missing parts from kits, so I am going to get a parts box with 30 compartments to mark and count each kit as I get them in.

I only have 4 lowers in different stages of build and two more stripped lowers that I have not decided what to do with them yet.  NO!  You can not have them.

Sweet Jesus...
Can you just buy an M16 LPK?

Edit:Answer is no, but you can buy parts if you already have one.

If I understand it correctly, they are not extra parts but future parts.

The Spike's LPK I bought Friday had several extra parts, including two spare takedown detents and one related spring.  All three of those spares ended up launched across the room and lost by the time I was done.  I was very thankful for them.

This seems to be the consensus here, so why am I ordering spare spring/detent kits?
